Kenya Aquatics has announced that Swim Safe Kenya (SSK) will take center stage in promoting aquatic safety during the highly anticipated World Aquatics Day Celebrations, scheduled for Saturday, 5th July 2025, at the Nyeri Moi Complex Swimming Pool.

In a significant endorsement, the national federation has officially selected Swim Safe Kenya (SSK) to conduct lifesaving drills during the event. This recognition highlights the organization’s growing impact in promoting water safety and survival skills across Kenya.

During his address to the public, Mr. Omar Omari, the Chairman of the National Technical Committee (Kenya Aquatics) and a proud alumnus of Swim Safe Kenya, emphasized the critical need to incorporate lifesaving and survival techniques into mainstream swimming programs. “It is imperative to integrate lifesaving and survival techniques in the normal swimming programs so as to promote aquatic safety,” Mr. Omari said, noting the rising need for practical safety awareness in both recreational and competitive swimming environments.

In preparation for the event, SSK directors Coach Douglas Okatso, Martin M. Maina, and Victor King’ang’ai have all confirmed their attendance and participation in the showcase. Their presence reinforces Swim Safe Kenya’s dedication to not only training but also actively demonstrating life-saving techniques to a wide audience.
